Finally!!! Our appointment is next Tuesday, August 7th!!!

Another weekend to survive

Ugh. Well, no pink for me yesterday, so there's no possibility of good news until Monday evening at the earliest. I used to look forward to weekends! Now I just want it to be Monday @ 3:45pm Guatemala time.

I did get an email confirmation from the embassy that they have my cable 37 and it's good through November for prints, so hopefully no worries there.

Our final documents were filed today. Now we sit. And wait. You'd think we'd be good at it by now.

I just can't get a break

It seems if there's a minor bump to be hit with this adoption, I've hit it. And they are minor, so I don't feel right complaining about it. But they're just mounting up!

I was waiting for PA back in January when the whole "increased scrutiny" thing started. I went into PGN just as the multiple kickouts for stupid stuff really got bad. I was waiting for my GCBC as the books were sent to be bound. Now, even getting the passport, a normal one day simple thing, has run into a snag. There are spelling errors that have to be corrected before I can be submitted for pink. I just can't believe it!

This is now my 8th week since being out. Nearly everyone that got out around the same time is long home. I'm seeing pinks for people that got out more than a month after me! And I still haven't been submitted yet. Arg!

Finally the GCBC

I have the birth certificate!!! What a beautiful piece of paper. I faxed it to Bob with the comment "The best fax you've ever gotten".

I'm still not sure if we've been submitted to the Embassy yet, but if not it will certainly be soon.

Venting

Arg!!! We are still waiting on our birth certificate. I can't flippin' believe it!

They were supposed to pick it up last Tuesday, but were told to come back this Tuesday (today). I don't know yet if they got it. If they did, we'll be submitted to the Embassy on Thursday or Monday. Pinks have been taking about a week. Then the appointment is nearly two weeks after that. So, we're looking into August now. :::sob:::

All of my "out buddies" are either currently in Guatemala picking up their kids or are already home. Tomorrow will be the start of the 7th week of this "four to six week" process.

I want him home! I washed all of his clothes over the weekend and was so certain that this was going to be the week we'd get pink. I'm so tired of explaining that this normally straight-forward and simple part of the process is taking so long. Bah!!!!

Still waiting

Still no news. The request for the birth certificate was made last Monday. I hope that means we'll get it this week and then be submitted for pink. I can't take the waiting. I'd love to just head down and wait it out.

We have not seen a photo of Bobby since the beginning of March. Four months!!!! I'm sure he's grown so big and changed so much.
