As he nears the one year at home mark, Robert Frank Estuardo Lord (formerly Marvin Estuardo) is happy and healthy. At his two year checkup in May 2008, he was 24.7 lbs. We're settling in well. Today makes one week that he's been home. There are definitely some settling in issues, but we're all getting quite used to one another now.The first few days, while we were in Guatemala, he was very reserved and quiet. Ugh. Well, no pink for me yesterday, so there's no possibility of good news until Monday evening at the earliest. I used to look forward to weekends! Now I just want it to be Monday @ 3:45pm Guatemala time.I did get an email confirmation from the embassy that they have my cable 37 and it's good through November for prints, so hopefully no worries there.I want my baby!

It seems if there's a minor bump to be hit with this adoption, I've hit it. And they are minor, so I don't feel right complaining about it. But they're just mounting up!I was waiting for PA back in January when the whole "increased scrutiny" thing started. I went into PGN just as the multiple kickouts for stupid stuff really got bad. I was waiting for my GCBC as the books were sent to be bound.

Still no news. The request for the birth certificate was made last Monday. I hope that means we'll get it this week and then be submitted for pink. I can't take the waiting. I'd love to just head down and wait it out.We have not seen a photo of Bobby since the beginning of March. Four months!!!! I'm sure he's grown so big and changed so much.

Our case was approved by the Family Court judge today!!!Now, the lawyer has to get certified copies of the decree, draw up the Protocolo, have the birth mother sign it, get the new birth certificate, get a Guatemalan passport, and submit everything to the US Embassy to get a visa. Hopefully, this can all be accomplished in about six weeks.

It appears some of the cases filed in family court are starting to be approved. I'm trying not to be overly optimistic as I know I'll just crash again in a few weeks.Today, I mailed a check to the agency to cover Bobby's surgery. I'm so angry that this "urgent" procedure has now been waiting for three months. Absolutely ridiculous.

After our third kickout on 4/18, our lawyer decided to file our case in Family Court instead of putting us back into PGN. She felt PGN was playing games and causing unnecessary delays.
