In August 2004, we visited Colorado Springs, CO. Here are some pictures.
| Garden of the Gods | On our first full day, we went to see the Garden of the Gods. Allison was so tired, she slept through our first stop at the visitor center. She woke up when we went across the street to the walking paths. |
| Cheyenne Mountain Zoo | What a nice zoo. Beware of the hills though. Pushing the stroller was tough! With zoo admission, you also get admission to the Will Roger's Shrine. You have to drive through the zoo to get to it. How strange! But it was definitely worth the ride up on the unpaved road. It does get a bit scary though, but it was a good warm-up for our trip up to Pikes Peak. |
| Pikes Peak | What can I say except Wow! We picked the best day to do this. It was bright and sunny and nearly cloudless. The day after, it snowed six inches on the summit. We were idiots and didn't take warm enough clothes. It is really, really windy up top. |
| Royal Gorge | This was another great day. Bob was a little leary of walking over the bridge, but he did it. Amanda and I rode the gondola back, but he walked back over the bridge with Doreen and the baby. |
| Seven Falls | This was a nice little side trip for an hour or so. |
| Leftover Photos | These photos don't really fit anywhere else, so I put them here. There are some from our drive on High Road. There are a few from our trip to Pueblo. And there are some of the snow on Pikes Peak the day after we visited. |
